Hi Everybody

I just have a simple question....which may have a very complicated answer ...........LOL

What does a blank entry in the startup list of MSCONFIG mean?"

There is a check box before the entry but it is without the program name, destination folder, etc.

Why it is there and what does it mean??????????

Means you should uncheck it and boot without it.
Go to Start/Run and type
sysedit and hit enter
It's somewhere in these startup files...

It could mean you uninstalled some software that used this entry in the Run key in the registry. The data for the key may have been deleted but not the key itself.

Click Start - Run and type regedit. Browse down :

HKEY_Local_Machine - Software - Microsoft - Windows - Run

Look for a DWORD value with no data in it. It may give a clue what software used that entry.

The previous reply was right though, just untick the entry in msconfig or delete the value from Regedit.
