MSCOMM Control

I want to use mscomm control to get data from the telephone, like the value of the key pressed on the phone set. example : telebanking

there are a few software routines available but they all suffer from false detection. They are like a voice recognition that has the tone entered as a word.
They dont work if the key is pressed while someone is talking and they respond erratically to speech as well.
The only reliable way is to use a phase locked loop hardware detector. There are a number of chips available if you are a technical person handy with a soldering iron otherwise you have to buy a commercial unit that connects to your serial port.

I'd love someone to prove me wrong as I've been looking for some time for the same!
