msblast causing performance problems?

Our users have been receiving various error messages including "ODBC Error, Frozen session, insert on Linked Table".

There are no messages in the error log or event logs.

There are several hundred users accessing the system but there are no blocking locks. We can see users acquiring locks and then releasing them.

Is it possible that the msblast worm is causing this problem?
