Hi,

My client has two W98 and three W2K desktops connecting to a w2000 server.

The server holds an access 2000 database of tables. Each desktop holds an access 2000 database of forms and modules etc which link to the server tables. The server also holds a development copy of the Forms and modules database.

I dial in remotely to develop the forms and modules on the server, using terminal services, and then I distribute the developed version to the desktops across the LAN. Trouble is that the server has got the latest version of the ADO extensions dll (msadox.dll), the W98s and W2K desktops having prior versions. So the desktops fail on runtime errors.

How can I register the most up to date msadox.dll on the desktops?

Thanks,

JohnH..

I had the same problem last week (I'm pretty sure it was msadox.dll). Check the version number of it (via properties). You will probably need to upgrade to MDAC 2.7 (you probably have version 2.5). You can get MDAC 2.7 from Microsoft. I did a Google search and found one I could download.

Microsoft has changed the way they handle dll's (a couple of version ago). They now come bundled. So you can't just change 1. You have to upgrade all of them. That's why you should upgrade to MDAC 2.7.
