I'm getting an error "MSACCESS.EXE has generate errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. AN error log is being created." It seems to happen at the opening of a report. The report contains all the records within a table, and the error has happened while viewing the table. Has anyone seen this before. I searched MS and the explanations aren't in plain enough English for me. I was hoping for a more understandable explanation and fix from here.

Thanks for ANY help!

I feel for you.

How big is the table - how many records are retrieved?

There is a chance you have a resource problem.

Two things...
- You are retrieving a large record set beyond the capabability of your PC.
- More likely, your TEMP files are full, and your system has no place to "write" the report as it generates the report.

As suggested, I suspect you need to clean up your TEMP files. TEMP files are the work files used by your computer. You open up a spreadsheet, read email, generate a report - all can generate TEMP files. Windows will attempt to clean up the TEMP files, but is not always successful. (For example, when a program crashes, it will not clean up after itself)

...Moving on
The location of your TEMP files is determined by the configuration of your system. It can be in a number of locations...

C:\TEMP
C:\Windows\TEMP
C:\WinNT\TEMP
C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Local Settings\TEMP

It should be safe to delete files in this directory.

After that, clean out your trash.

I have been troubleshooting this all day yesterday. I was trying to find the record that was messing up the database. FINALLY, I got an error message that said "Form 765 (which is the table) is currently in use by 'Admin' on machine APCO05476RBG...." Upon further investigation, our server (NOvell) has an occurrence of this database open, but no user does. We shut down the server to clear this out, but it didn't. ANy ideas. I'm not that smart on server issues. It doesn't show a user having the database open, but the server does...make sense?

Thanks for any help!!

I suggest to you that a person did not / could not exit gracefully from the Access database so Access could not "clean up".

Access creates a file in the same directory and same name but with the prefix of LDB. Delete this file, and try again.
