Need some suggestions please. I have an access database linked to a sql table. once I insert a field from the access db in the report I get an odbc error. Any ideas how I can get this to work. I have even tried converting the access db to an ADO and still no luck.

Thanks for any help here.

Sorry, running MS Sql and also Crystal v8.5

PS, isn't there any way to edit a post?

It works okay for me.
I have a linked table in Access that I'm using in CR.

I'm using Cr 8.5, Access 97 linked to SQL 2000.
Win 2K sp4.
Basic suggestions is update MDAC from Microsoft and also patch the Jet engine for Access.
SQL ODBC version is 2000.81.9002.00

Also make sure that CR is patched as well. I'm running SP3.

Cheers
Fred

Okay, got it to work. I had to go into MS Access and Upsize the database. It then created a linked table and off I went. The table had to be placed in the same database as the other tables I was working with.

Thanks for your help

Don, yes I had tried verifying the database and that too did not work.

I did not want to apply any patches etc because of our highly customized system; god only knows what would happen at this point. We are waiting for a total upgrade on all systems and databases and app's around end 2nd qtr.

Thanks for eveyone's help as usual
