Our main File Server is now reaching the end of the line and we have bought a new server to replace it. Both are connected to our MSA1000 Storage box, eventually moving to a complete san environment, via HBA on fibre channels.

We want to move the data on one of the arrays to another array on the same box. Is this possible without doing a copy and paste?? Array A is connected to the old file server and Array B is connected to the new server. On both servers, each others arrays are recognised as foreign disks. I understand their is an option in Disk Manager which says "import foreign disks", what does this actually do?? does it erase the data on that disk?? or does it allow the new server to use Array A???

Thanks
