MS XP Fax Services Remote monitoring 1

Can XP Fax Services monitor a remote fax machine? We have a Canon Multifuntional copier (model 3220) w/fax line attached on our network. We want the endusers to get notification at the desktop of fax status. Who is the genius that can answer this question? thanks
