I'm trying to pass a paragraph of text from a formfield into a cell in a table for storage, then pull it back from the table cell into the original FormField. Similar to a database. For various reasons I can't use Access for this project because we don't have it, so I'm stuck with Word.

I can't get a string with any length to pass into the table from the formfield, so I typed it directly into the table to see if I could get it to go from the table back to the formfield. I'm using a message box to display the string that I'm trying to pass. The full string shows up in the message box, but when I try to push it into the FormField I get an error that says:
"Run-time error '4609' String too Long".

Does anyone know what limit I'm hitting and a way around it.

I can push the paragraph of text directly from the cell in table 1 to the cell in table 2 and back again, but table 1 is actually my data entry form with formfields and its difficult to have part of the table locked for forms and this cell unlocked for direct data entry.
