Hello All

Here's my problem - I have office xp and when I start up ms-word (on a windows 98SE machine) and type some words I just get a thick black line.

Any ideas most welcome

Many thanks

kogg

Do you get this with all words or just some words?

Cheers,
Dave

Probably the only Test Analyst Manager on Tek-Tips...therefore whatever it was that went wrong, I'm to blame...

animadverto vos in Abyssus!

Take a look at Forum1393!

all words have the same effect.

Have you tried to print the text? Does it print correctly?

It might be a problem with the charachter spacing: go to "Format", "Font", and click on the "charachter spacing" tab.

If everything is in order, it should read:

Scale: 100%
Spacing: Normal
Position: Normal

It might just be a very small font size, perhaps bolded. If it's not some sort of obvious format issue, rename normal.dot and see if it solves the problem.

Enjoy,
Tony
