ms word,outlook,mail merge,get data....

our installation doesn't have the option for:

word 97,tools,mail merge,get data,use address book.

But it has create data source,open data source,and header options.

Do we have to re-install word and outlook or, is there a simple fix.

I am in the same boat. The "use address book" function is greyed out. I think the probelm is word, but I don't know how to fix it.

Ideas anyone?

OK, I basically did a custom reinstall of just the address book portion in Word. It overwrote 6 files (off97inv.dll, off97pro.stf, mssp232.dll, findfast.exe, ffastlog.txt and findfast.cpl) and added 4 more (schdmapi.dll, off97pro.000, wwpab.cnv and html32.cnv).

As a test, I deleted the 4 new files and it still worked, so not sure which was corrupted, but it solved the problem. I rolled it out (through NAL) and everyone is working fine. Hope this helps someone out.
