I'm not sure if this is even possible - I've searched and can't find any help in BOL or generally on line.

I need to create a word template, and it needs to have two formfields with drop down pre-populated.

What I'd like is for the population of the second drop down to be dependant on the first.

So, for example, first drop down would include:
Promotional
Non-promotional

And if Promotional was selected, the options for drop-down two would be:
Abstract
Advertisment
etc

but if Non-promotional had been selected, the options for the second drop-down would magically become
Briefing Document
Bulletin
Confirmation letter
etc

Is this even possible? I'd like very much to do this in word, mainly because I'm with non-technical people here and they recognise it (and diseminating a template is dead easy!).

Thanks for all help in advance guys.

This has come up a number of times, both here and other forums. The FAQs on formfields here (look in the FAQ) has an example.

You use an OnExit macro for the first formfield to clear and repopulate the second.

I did try to search but couldn't find anything. Thanks for that - I'll go and dig in there then.

Fumei:

Your FAQ was completely excellent.

I now have some very happy users who each have a most excellent form (if I say so myself) to use.

Actually, that FAQ is getting old. It needs to be revised. But thanks.

I did have to do some extra research, but that's all good isn't it? I've learnt much more that way than if I'd been given the completed answer myself.

I love this forum, me!
