Thank you for reading my question! I am trying to create a page border for my document where the size of the line is larger than 6 points. Is this possible in MS Word 2003?
Currently when I go to Format -> Borders and Shading -> Page Border, the largest width I can choose for a line is 6 pt.
Is there a way around this???

Thank you & have a great weekend!

I don't know about 2003, but in 2002 it is not possible within PageSetup and borders. With Page Setup it only uses DefaultBorderWidth, and the max is 6 pts.

The only solution I can think of is Insert > Textbox. There you can set the border to whatever you want, because it is a Shape object. That being said, this is not really a good idea, as this would mean you would have to make every page a textbox. Bad, bad, bad.

However, you could also try using a watermark. Create a graphic with the border the size you want, and then Format > Background > Printed background. Make sure to unchecked Washout, otherwise...welll your border will be washed out. You will have to carefully set you page margins to ensure your text will fall inside the borders of the background rectangle.

Of the two, the least problems will come from using the watermark. making every page an individual textbox is asking for trouble IMHO.
