I accidentally did not save changes to a document that had not been saved since it's creation. Unknowingly, I did not chose to save the document. Is there a way to recover the document?

No. Once you clicked the No button when prompted to save the changes, Word got rid of anything not already saved. That's different from the document being in memory when the computer suddenly shut down from loss of power or had to be turned off when it locked up.
