Can remotely establish a W2000P PPTP VPN to NT4 sp6a server and map drives on the network using all user accounts. Those user accounts when on ME computers are authenticating onto VPN but not passing the correct user name / or password to the resources on the server as the gray password box needed to logon onto resource window comes up wanting the password again. If it is input again it fails again. I can ping within the private IP network so I know we are getting in through to the server but the next step to logon to server resources is failing. It must be a ME issue because the same user info in the W2000P vpn works great. PPTP is verified on both sides of VPN, using 128 bit encryption on both sides also. Event viewer on NT server shows security event with bad user password or account which indicates something in how the adapter is configured is passing bad info onto the resources. On ME and w2000P using right click network neighboorhood to map drive such as \\192.10.10.10\sharename . Am totally out of ideas, all the ME computers on the network have the same issue when VPNing in. Tried even tried "net use" commands from command line but get all different kinds of errors, making me suspect I am failing to get text correct. Anyone been here and solved this? I can ping within the network so I know we are getting in through PPTP but the next step to logon to server resources is failing.
