I thought I might share this with you guys

I manage some Citrix environments that the customers publish Program neighborhood and defines the apps that the user can use

No desktop just apps

Well this has been a common request with customers that use MS Terminal Services
The short coming I have found is with MSTS you can define only one app on the environment tab on the user account

I think I found a solution !

I created a simple batch file that starts the executables that I want the user to have

IE: Outlook, Business App, Etc..

I put the batch file in as the Start This app on the Environment tab

Bam!

The user gets the apps with no desktop

When all the apps are closed the session logs off

Hope this is useful

There are inexpensive alternatives to Citrix, and if you just want to publish applications you can try Remote Application Center, which is free. You can find this application, and all other Citrix alternatives here:

I have products broken down by function, so RAC is under Application Publishing & Portals, as it is not a fully functional management product that is a Citrix Alternative.
