Hi there,
I am trying to install service pack3a of MS SQL server 2000.
I have found three files recommended by microsoft, they are
sql2ksp,sql2kasp3 and sql2kdesktop.It has been advised to install sql2ksp,sql2kasp3 and sql2kdesktop in that order.

The first one installs fine but the second one gives me the errror "You must install Analysis Services 2000 before you can apply the service pack".

Could someone out there please give me an idea of how do I install this service??

Thanks

You DON'T need to install all three service packs. SQL2KSP is for SQL Server 2000. SQL2KASP3 is for SQL Server Analysis Services 2000. SQL2Desktop is for MSDE 2000. You only need to install the service pack(s) for what you actually have. HOWEVER, if you DO have two or more, you need to install the service packs in that order.

So, you don't have Analysis Services 2000? Skip that service pack.
