Hi

I am managing a project and we are developing an application using VB.net. The web application sits on Microsoft SBS 2003. Could you please tell me what is the best method for accessing and updating the database.

The server Administrator wants employees to access the server using Remote Desktop Connection where he has put a shortcut on the terminal server desktop where users are able to login to our database. He has also setup the server for external access to database. My question is: What is the best method for using a database? I want the users to be able to access the database anywhere with an internet connection.

Are there any benefits from employees using remote desktop connection to access the database? Is this a slower method? What are the normal commercial methods of using a database? Does the company need to use better server software?

Please help!!

Thank you
