Some time ago I installed the MS Publisher 2007 Trial software. I've tried to uninstall in using the MS uninstall tool and Absolute Uninstall. Neither worked. Does anyone know how to uninstall this wretched piece of......software? I am using Vista, 32bit OS.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.

What about reinstalling it over itself, and THEN trying to uninstall? And then restart the system into Safe Mode to be sure nothing else is accessing the files that are being moved/deleted with the uninstall process before trying to uninstall again...

At least that's a stab at it.

You could also try running CCleaner's uninstaller, just to see, and there's also Revo Uninstaller that might work. Also, running some system clean-up of temp files, registry entries, might help.. but not guaranteed to work.

Did you try going in thru the control panel? (I'm not sure what you're calling the "MS uninstall tool".)

The reinstall and uninstall might have worked. I didn't try it as this problem is common and I thought if it could be solved that easy I would have found that answer before ever posting on TT.

Yes, I tried the control panel uninstall, i.e. the uninstall tool.

I finally removed it with a forced unintall under Perfect Uninstall. A pretty good tool to have in ones toolbox.

Thanks for the replies!
