I've received some bad press from people in regard to the security of MS Proxy Server. I'm looking for REASONS, not opinions,as to why I should or should not continue using it. Thanks in advance.
-I understand that there may be better products, but most of my clients are small biz and local gov. who won't spend big dollars.

I'm no expert but I've gotten a fair understanding here:
<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> sure to see the "MS Proxy Server Security Evaluation".
seems it (the evaluation) was conducted by an outside auditing concern. Lots of information there.

I'm am aware of only one patch specifically for an NT server that related to potential internal network security issues; Not the Proxy Server, NT Server. There are a few registry settings that should be adjusted, things like that.

I've heard lot's of critics but have only seen one or two (faily lame) methods of attacking an NT server, none of which involved the existance of the proxy server.

There was a site, <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> that kept up with hacking exploits. They werent there when I looked recently. They got hacked. They werent running NT or the proxy server. Hmmm. I dont know. You be be the judge.
Amiel
amielzz@netscape.net
