Greetings,
We are currently using Microsoft Proxy Server 2 on our network which I installed around 6 months ago. We have recently upgraded our domain to 2000 and this is where the problem lies.
It appears that the Proxy2 client does not work at all well with active directory and that I am going to have to replace it.
At the moment I see the two main options being Squid and ISA, ISA is fairly pricey and I'd like to avoid using it if I can.
My question is with regards to running Squid in a windows 2000 environment, how does it authenticate the user? I imagine it provides a password prompt although I have been unable to find out.
My second question is regarding setting up different groups with different permissions, can this be done on squid?
I would be most gratefull for any input on this matter.
