Hi All,

I would like to plot custom resource chart in MS project.

Basically, I need to plot the amount of full time employment (FTE) against the number of month. It means I plot a 100% bar when I have 1 person working 100% of its time, 200% for two...

So far I could just plot the number of working hours against time and the peak unit in percent (which is apparently what I wanted but which in reality is not)

Can somebody help me out?

Thanks a lot

How closely does this work for you?

View > Resource sheet
Window > split
Click on the bottom part of the display
View > Resource graph
Format > Timescale to set whatever timeframes you want
Format > Bar styles...
In the popup, on the left side ("Selected Resources") change "Don't show" to any other entry (I used Bar). There are 3 places where you can change this setting - "Proposed Bookings" is only useful if you have Project Server installed.
Click on the top part of the display
Ctrl+Click to select the resources you want to view

I agree with all of this except I would change the resource graph to leverage % Work Allocated and Show the Availability line:

View > Resource sheet
Window > split
Click on the bottom part of the display
View > Resource graph

*Right click on the time phased portion of the Resource Graph and select % Work Allocated

*Check the option to Show Availability Line

Click on the top part of the display
Ctrl+Click to select the resources you want to view

Hi everyone,

I am sorry it took so much time before my reaction.

So first thanks for your help, it is working good now.

I now have another question on top:

I have a certain number of people working on different projects (on week 1: A -5%: B -6%, C-20%, on week 2: A -7% B-3% and C-40%) and I am now able to plot separately the percentage of allocation of each person separately.

But I would like on top of that to plot the amount of FTE necessary at every moment (on week 1: FTE - 31%, on week 2: FTE 50%). I would like to avoid creating one resource called FTE and to involve it in any activity.

Is it possible to plot this percentage of allocation of FTE without creating a resource?

Hope it is clear enough.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Jean
