Im working on a schedule and need some help.

I have a task that requires 3 phases: engineering, fabrication and installation. Instead of having that task in three different milestones (eng, fab, inst) vertically. I would like to set it up horizontally, the thing is, is there any way I can have 3 bars on the gantt chart showing the eng, fab, and installation phases?

First of all, you should look up the definition of milestone in Project -- it has a very specific definition and I don't think you really mean "milestone" (more likely you mean "task").

Second, yes, there is a "sort of" way but you can only do this by intially setting it up vertically (which is something you said you didn't want) before doing the remaining work on the schedule to make it appear as you have described.

Since this question seems far too much like a homework question, I'll simply tell you that you should look at rollup and also look at formatting a bar on the Gantt chart.

Good luck in your course!
