Does anybody has some experience in using project 2000 with external databases.
We have set up using project with an oracle 8.1.7 database. When working with a central ressource pool and around 20 projects, after some changes and saving all projects we have a big big performance problem. Saving all the files takes quite a long time - around 10 Minutes - witch is not acceptable.
Are there some options for optimisation?
Will it be better to use MS SQL Server instead of Oracle?

Thanks a lot
Michael

Hi,
I'm not sure but I had the same time problem with charging an external Access database.
I found that in Norton settings the Office plug-in was on.
That means the Anti Virus program runs everytime you move your file.I unchecked the plug-in and now the transfer is a lot faster.
Hope this helps
