MS PPTP VPN over MSN DSL Problems 1

Has anyone had problems connecting to a Microsoft PPTP/VPN server over MSN DSL? I can establish a connection at first and use it for several minutes but, if I stop using it for about 5 minutes the connection seems to disappear. The VPN icon in the systray is still there and I can see that traffic goes out through it but, it seems it cannot get back in. MSN is of no help of course. If I consistantly ping a PC on the LAN on the other side of the VPN my VPN connection stays up fine. I'm wondering if MSN is blocking VPN/PPTP packets but, if that was the case, I don't think I'd be able to connect to the VPN server in the first place.
