MS optical trackball s/w not working

hey everyone, my new Intellipoint s/w doesn't give any devices in the "select device" menu where you chose the model of mouse/trackball you have. This keeps me from assigning the buttons, and the extra buttons ( back / forward, wheel etc) don't work. Running Win98, ver 3.2 of the Intellipoint s/w, all MS Win updates, tried USB and PS2, reinstalled several times

question have you got a floppy or cd?? if so install as OTHER device!! pick have disk!! then install

got it working.... the problem was the old logitec and A4 wheel software that did not uninstall itself properly when I removed the mouse.

The "select device" i was refering to was in the trackball configuration window of the Intelipoint software. You have to first select a device, ie, ms trackball optical, ms explorer wheel mouse, etc , then the software will set default options for the individual mouse/trackball switches.

I wasn't clear about that sorry
