I have installed a Microsoft Optical Scroll Mouse on my PC. The mouse works fine the only thing is when my PC is shutdown the light on the mouse stays on. I believe this is because I have the plugged the mouse in using the USB to P/S 2 connector. Is there any way to set it up so when the PC shuts down the mouse shuts down too?
Cheers

If it is a wireless, then I have no solution. If it isn't, most likely the problem involves "power Options" under the bios. Soething to do with DMPS (i think), VSync + off (i think) or something of that nature.

Cheers, I was worried it was. Would I be better off using USB? I was told by a gamer that a p/s 2 port was faster.

The data rate on a USB 2.0 port is 400 mbs.
And, the light would be off.

In my experience, a USB mouse is just as good as one plugged in a serial port or mouse port. More important than the port is the quality of the mouse and its precision.

Those criteria do not depend on the port, but on what the device was built with.

Pascal.
