MS Office File Optimizer locks system

I recently installed a copy of MS Office 2000 Standard on 2 machines. Something called the Microsoft Office File Optimizer pops up and attempts to run just after the Novell login. Their is a checkbox to turn the optimizer off, however, since it locks up each time this is unsuccessfull. I do not find the optimizer in the start folder, sysedit or MSconfig. Any idea how to get rid of the optimizer?

Thanks! I had searched the knowledgebase for "file optimizer" and Netscape came back with no results. Conspiricy?
