MS Office Document Imaging

I am trying to setup document imaging and to do this effectivly I need to have 3 separate windows open at all times, one for a bespoke software app one for MS wors and one for MS Document Imaging. I have positioned and re-sized MS Word and by bespoke app and every time I open a new window in either of these they stay in the same screen position and don't open a new windows however when I open a new doc in MS Doc imaging it opens a new window and puts it in the center of the screen, if anyone knows a way round this I would be most grateful.
PS Tiling the screen windows does not work.
