MS Office 2000 questions

I have several

1- what would cause office small business edition to install fine but when I try and open any program such as word/excel/etc.. it opens really fast and then completely and totally crashes/closes off screen like it was never opened. system is w2k I have a clone of this exact pc with same setup/software etc that works perfectly. I am at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated

2- office premium/winME are there any known issues with winfax pro or act ?? I have been getting this message "winword has caused an error in VBE6.dll winword will now close" I have uninstalled office and reinstalled a dozen times, I have also replaced the VBE6.dll this one also has me stumped! again any help would be greatly appreciated

First question, known issue, see this technet article:

Second question, known issue, first find the file on your hard drive named normal.dot and rename it to abnormal.dot. If you have more than one, rename them all. If that doesn't work, go to Word's Startup directory, probably c:\program files\microsoft\office\startup or similar location. Make sure there are no files in there. Move/remove them. Restart Word.

thank you so much I have been looking for this stuff everywhere, msutve just been typing in the wrong thing at microsoft support pages cause nothing ever came up.

the second issue is solved worked like a charm , you are a life saver!!! hope to try the 1st issue tommorrow at the clients office!!
