I recently upgraded to Win2k from Win98, and went through the headache of manually ordering and receiving via snail mail the drivers and such for the HP CD-writer Plus 7200 that I have on that machine. These drivers worked great until I installed MS Media Player 7 at which time both my R/O CD-ROM and my CD-Writer were showing up in the system as 'unable to load drivers'. After much hair pulling I confirmed that the MP 7 - CE-Writer driver conflict was the cause of the problems. I was able to unistall MP7 and the CDs came back to life?!? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
