Just got a question regarding Microsoft and ActiveX technology.
Evidently MS is fighting (and losing) a patent case w/ Eolas Technology (Wasn't Eolas an elf in LotR?)... The upshot is that MS is going to have to cut some ties 'tween IE and plugins. Does anybody have an idea of how this will effect CE10/CR10 (or BOXI, if you swing that way...)?
"As a part of the ruling Microsoft is required to remove a large majority of the Active X technology from Internet Explorer. Microsoft will be releasing a critical hotfix on April 11 via Windows Update that when applied will remove IE's capability to use many Active X controls. "
If these plug-ins were developed by Seagate/Crystal/BO, would THEY quit functioning in IE, or would they just require "activation"?
Anybody? Anybody? Ferris?
