A Microsoft executive is pushing Windows 10, even to the point of creating fear, uncertainty, and doubt about its own Windows 7.

Interesting comments, even if they are from a "C-level executive". However, it's important to point out he's in marketing, so obviously he's not expected to make the most sound technical statements. Also, it's not the plural executives but the singular executive.

So, this nearly confirms for me that Windows 10 is being used as a spying appliance by the government and thus they want everyone to be running it. That was not my opinion, that was me channeling JohnHerman.

You'll have to pry Windows 7 out of my cold, dead hands just like Windows XP.

How can they give away Windows 10 for free? Microsoft Windows is not like Linux, it's not open source freeware. It's like Scott Garceau says, "follow the money". Find the money trail. Where is the money coming from? Advertising? Not really. So where is the revenue to support Windows 10? BIG DATA. Compulsory participation in "diagnostic data collection". And who's buying the BIG DATA?

I'm with you about being suspicious about what gets sent via Windows 10 UNTIL someone can hack that data stream and see exactly what is being sent to Microsoft and/or whoever else is the great recipient in the sky(net). You'd have a great spying tool if every Windows 10 computer send some sort of unique ID every time it went online along with IP address. Then you are basically tracked everywhere you go.
