MS exchange 5.5 Information store not starting

Hi friends

Anyone can guess , what's wrong here, Since afternoon my server started rebooting for every 5 minutes , my server is running with SBS ( NT4 + Exchange 5.5), i uninstalled the etrust Anti virus (CA s) then the rebooting prob was came to a halt , then i noticed that my exchange services were not starting asusual , there was an error

"An application error has occured and an application error log is being genarated STORE.EXE exception : Access violation (0xc00000005) address (xxxxxxx)"
during Ms exchange information store service initialization , in the chain reaction both MS event service , IMS were also exiting by generating 1067 error in event log.
i have taken a safe copy of store.exe and copied a fresh file from CD ,but in vain.
In the event viewer i observed some dll s throwing error reg performance , i disabled the library entries of those dll s in registry confined to performance , i disabled all anti virus , and remaining all unnecessary services , but all in vain.
i welcome any suggestion on this regard at the earliest.

I had a similar problem and found that our inforamtion store had reached it maximum .. we had Exch 5.5 Standard and was very surprised to find out that there was a 16GB limit .. normally we wouldn't of hit this maximum, but our mail server got inundated a rash of spam a few weeks ago. Let me know if you think this is your problem ....

Yip...I have had this problem... I have read a few KB - and came up with this one..

I've installed it - and now so far so good.

Here are my events:

In Event viewer - i get this kind of message too :

An error was returned from the messaging software the Internet Mail Service uses to process messages on the Microsoft Exchange Server. As a result, the message in spool file W6RD7T0T will be retried when the server is restarted.

and then i get a slew of message stating that the IMS and Store.exe services will be shutdown.

and then this - just before it cacks.

The application, exe\store.dbg, generated an application error The error occurred on 11/15/2003 @ 16:16: 7.993 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 0042466b (<nosymbols>)


Then this:
The error 0x80040115 was encountered while trying to communicate with the message store. An attempt to refresh the connection will be made. If not successful, the service will be shut down.
