Must save an item database made in excel as a .csv file to be read in another inventory program. Problem is that excel does not use the comma sign as a field but instead the ; which isn´t understood by my other program.
I can solve the problem by creating the database in MS Access and use the export command to create a .txt file with comma sign as field separator and rename the file ac .csv ! This is OK with me but I guess to much work for the end user who wants to work only in Excel.
Any ideas ?

Ive got the code knocking around somewhere to be able to save an access table as a csv and play with the formatting. you could put that on a button in access if that would be any use to you? sorry i cant do it from XL, dont know XL VBA that well.

Are you sure that the machine you are using has the correct setting for separator character? If the settings for the machine are set up for a "," as a separator character then Excel will use that in the CSV file as a field separator ( by the way, CSV stands for Comma Separated Values ).
