First of all, in Excel 97, is there a limit to the number of characters that a cell will hold? The problem I am running into is, when I export a Crystal vs. 8 report into a spreadsheet, not all of the information in a given field from Crystal will copy over. Also, is there a setting in Crystal maybe, that I'm not aware of that would fix this problem?

Type Limits in Help Index, select Program workspace specifications

Maximum length of cell contents (text) 32,000 characters
Maximum length of formula contents 1,024 characters

What are the actual numbers of characters you have in the original database, and how many are ending up in Excel? (If only approximate).

Also, you might find that an intermediate stage helps, for example exporting the database to a delimited file, then importing that to Excel.

More data please!
