I don't know much about Dynamics CRM 4.0. And I never had a MS-CRM 3.0 installation.
What I read in older documents is that this MS-CRM 3.0 integration for IP Office - which is not available any more - is far more then just a CTI enabler for MS-CRM.

Now, a customer has Dynamics 4.0 and wants to have CTI for Dynamics. They just want to have something like a 'call' icon next to a phone number to call this contact. If it is possible to pop the contact for the incoming call, then that's brilliant.
But the don't need any call centre functionality or reports of any kind.

What I like to know is, does Dynamics support CTI at all?
And what is so special about it, that everyone is just referring to the EoS of MS-CRM 3.0?

Many thanks

Thanks. I will have a look at it.

They also have a plug-in to enable CTI in Outlook. At least this is described in the install guide. But Outlook itself has CTI capabilities. What about Dynamics? Is this just a tool to make it comfortable to use CTI or is it necessary because Dynamics would not support CTI without it?

Info: The customer wants to use the R6 softphone together with Dynamics. And of course, CTI.

Is there someone with a bit of knowledge about MS Dynamics 4.0 ?

The question is:
Is there no TAPI functionality in MS Dynamics 4.0 at all or is it possible to initiate a call similar to Outlook?

Thanks

it depends how dynamics is presented to the client, it can be configured in multiple ways, through outlook, a browser, etc.

Best way i've found to gain an integration is to use keystroke macro's to drive the host app / URL Browser feed (i.e. pass into the browser crm.dynamics.com/=[Client ID] for screen popping, t his usually requires talking to the SQL tables and importing the client ID along with the phone number, and a automated grab and dial using the clipboard for "clicking to dial
