I need to upgrade the firmware on my DVD drive but creating a boot disk doesnt seem to work as it cant move from the floppy drive letter to the Hard drive letter at the ms dos mode.

Most XP HD's are NTFS fileing system. If you boot dos from a floppy you will not be able to see your HD. You need to put all the files needed for the up grade on the floppy. Then boot from the floppy

Hi Anarking,

Generally firmware providers will provide you with the correct software to create a bootable floppy disk that will contain the new firmware.

I'm guessing that you have created a MSDos boot disk and are tring to use that to locate the new firmware on your Hard Drive? If that is the case and is not working then It is likely that you are using NT File System on the hard drive. This is something that a standard MSDos disk cannot access. You will either need to create a Boot Disk that can access NTFS partitions or see if the manufacturer has a utility for you.
