MS Cordless Mouse quit after 10 min

On both a 98 and 2K machines, this particular cordless mouse will work for 10-25 mins and then will freeze. Reboot does bring back operation for short time.

I have installed fresh batteries. Mouse and Receiever are both set to same channel (I have tried this test on both channels).

MS Cordless Wheel Mouse Serial and PS/2 compatible. Using PS/2 connector on receiver

Any ideas?

As it fails on two different systems it has to be the mouse itself or the receiver, suggest you contact the manufacturer

This problem does sound like BATTERIES, or at least I had the same thing happen and was convinced that it wasn't batteries as they were only 5 weeks old, but it was.
I am not saying it is your problem but these cordless mice are very power hungry, alkaline batteries only last 7-12 weeks regular use. Martin Just trying to help, sometimes falling short, I am only human after all.
