MS Access RPC failure...

I am using Crystal 9. MS Access 2000 database. Win2K servers.

The Access db is on a different server than the one that Crystal Report is on.

I created an ODBC connection to the database. Was able to create my report and preview in Crystal.

I then use ReCrystallizePro to create an ASP file that calls the Crystal Report Viewers.

I have successfully done this with MS SQL databases on other machines.

PROBLEM: I am getting an error when trying to view the report from a browser.

"The remote procedure call failed and did not execute."

There is bunch of stuff on RPC issues on the web. But seems like a red herring to me. Does anyone else have experience with this issue?

It might be that you used explicit drive letter mapping to the Access db instead of the UNC, such as:

\\machine name\path...

-k

I initially did a connection using Access/Excel (DAO) connection in Crystal using UNC path, but got the same error. I then switched to ODBC but that can only use mapped drives.

You can and should use UNC when using ODBC.

Just manually type in the \\machine\path
