Hello,

I have to generate PDF reports per client on a monthly basis. The ulitmate goal is to email the client the monthly generated PDF file.

The report data is being returned via an MS SQL Server stored procedure. I am familiar with a variety of reporting softwares. I have used crystal reports in the past and I have utilized Access as well. The client requested that I use MS Access.

My question is: can I generate PDF files via an MS Access report driven by asp.net\vb.net? Can MS Access generate reports based on SQL Server stored procedure? I know that I can print to Acrobat Distiller or PDFWriter.

I will re-post this in MS Access forum as well.

Does the Crystal Reports that ships with .NET require any additional purchasing of a crystal reports software? If not, can the Crystal Reports included with .NET handle the creation of PDF files with relative ease?

thanks and sorry if this is an incorrectly entered question.

Not sure about .Net, but the Report Designer Component that is included with Crystal Reports 8.0 Professional makes exporting reports to .pdf a breeze (about 10 lines of code to process the report and export to .pdf). I imagine the same components would be available with the .Net version.

If you must export an Access report to .pdf, see faq703-2533, it works wonderfully.
