I have created a simple database within Access. Later it will be more ellaborate but good for right now. I am new to using Access so please be patient with me.

My problem is that I have 2 tables in my MS Access program. I hook up to these files using Crystal Report Writer v8.5

When the user trys to enter info into MSAccess and someone is in Crystal MSAccess gets a locking error. Not only does the person with the Crystal Report have to close the report but they also have to close Crystal altogether in order to unlock MSAccess. I have noticed that Access writes a LOCK file in the same folder where my program file is. If the person entering information trys to save anything in the way of entering data into the table it just won't let her.

Can someone please give me a little guidance as to how I can prevent this from happening.

Thanks

Under Tools-->Options-->Advanced, what do you have under default open mode and default record locking?

Under Advanced tab I have following:

Default open mode: SHARED
Default record locking: NO LOCKS
Open databases using record-level locking: has CHECKMARK

Under Tables/Queries tab I have following:

Run permissions: USER'S

Thanks
