I have MS Access97 front end and have 4 pass-through queries to the oracle database. I have completed the interface using forms, tables from the pass through query, macros. .etc. Now, I am ready to install this to about 10 supervisor's PC and they all have MS Access97. The question now is what is the best way to install this interface to all 10 PC's. I have the Oracle NT installed in my PC, this allows me to connet directly to the orcle database. Do i need to install Orcle NT in all of the PC's??. The other way is to split the database and run query myself and have all the PC point to my PC or the server where the updated tables are. Or create a WEB base ASP type interface which is almost the same when you split the database.

Please let me know the best way to handle this with out installing Orcle NT in each of the machine.

thanks

My experience is with Oracle 7.3 and there are a lot extra installations required, ODBC etc. If you go ASP then you don't have to worry about that side of things. If your supervisors are going to be "Read Only" I'd go ASP. If you're doing read write then the decision might be different. Sandy

In addition to what Sandy said - if the users are read only in the Oracle information - in other words they will not be manipulating the data directly from Oracle - I have used make table queries and programmatically exported them at different times of the day. But so much depends on what you are trying to achieve with the Oracle information and how often you need it updated.

Good Luck

the supervisors will not be writing and updating the oracle database. I just need to for them to have access to the file then the Access97 interface do a few more things after it grabs the data(this is outside the oracle DB) I create a table in Access from the pass through query, then i use that to do any manipulation. This does not get saved back to the Oracle DB. what i would like to know if there is ODBC that i can install to each supervisors PC that will allow them to query( Pass Through) the database.
