The applications my company has built use Powerbuilder connected to Access using ODBC. I bought a new laptop with Win2K to use to demo the software and the applications don't seem to work anymore - they SEEM to connect to the database, but then we get the following error:

Database Error Code = 999
Database Error Message:
Error de select: SQLSTATE = S1003
[Microsoft] [ODBC Drive Manager] Program type out of range.

Just this morning we decided to use an old computer that had run thiese applications earlier on Win 95 and Win 98, but now, after upgrading the old laptop to Windows ME a few weeks ago, we now get the same error. Any advice for me?

I am experiencing the same problem. DO you have the solution yet? I will keep you informed if I hear anything...Please do the same for me.

Thanks,

We think that we have found the problem - the older version of powerbuilder we have been using (6.5) is not compatible with Win 2k or Win ME. We are under the impression that upgrading to PB 7 will rectify the problem. We will probably be upgrading soon and could tell you. Perhaps there is a workaround or patch that Powersoft could supply, however.

Try downloading the patch for 6.5.1 from sybase.com. I did and everything works well for me.
