MS Access- modify date for records

I am new to Access, is there any way to add a field to a table in Access that captures the date modified for the overall record?

You could add a date field and then just record the current date time when it's modified.

Does depend on how the data is being modifed (form, query etc.) though as how you would implement it.

Thanks. It is mainly through a form, however, the users also have access to the tables also.

I've been told it is only really possible to capture it through a form.

Yes, Access/Jet does not have any triggers. Use the before update event of the form, which is triggered by any attempt to save the record.
