Sorry - this is not a dbl post - I was not a member of this forum when I posted it and I want to make sure it gets to the right place. I really hope this is it!

I have a group of users that are using MS Access 2003 on XP machines and their login credentials suddenly do not work and the form does not respond at all. The only thing that has happened since the problem since the last time the did work was a Windows 7/Access 2007 machine was introduced to the mix but that macine was never able to log in and tried to run a report upon invoking Access. But that is a related but separate issue as my 2003 users are the ones that keep the daily transactions. The login form does not return any error messages - it just does not respond in any way -

Thanks!

So, you don't need the old post at all, right? The one here:

If so, then go to that thread and red-flag yourself, saying you want that post deleted, b/c you posted to the wrong forum to begin with. I realize it says "red flag", etc, but it will just send a request to the administrators to delete the thread.

As far as the issue at hand, I've had something similar before, but my solution apparently won't work for you. I had built a database in Access 2007 format. I built it with Access 2010. Folks with 2007 were able to open it with no problem.... UNTIL I opened it once again with 2010, ran a Compact and Repair b/c one of them had gotten an error, caused a chain reaction to where I needed to fix some things. The only solution I found at the time was to save the database to the old .mdb format (Access 2003 format), and from the on, they had no issues.

My initial thought is to see if you can do a Decompile - Compact - and repair on the database. Be sure to create a backup copy first.

Here is one tutorial on how to do the decompile:

Allen Browne also has a good page on the same, so if you feel like you're missing something in the first (I don't suspect you will), look for Allen Browne decompile, and see what he says.
