I have a text field with a validation rule that evaluates the content of the field and fails if the field contains an apostrophe. I also have the Validation Text set to return a specific message to the user if the validation fails. This all appears to work correctly.

However, after the message appears with the text in the Validation Text setting, there is an additonal MS Access message window that appears stating that "The value in the field or record violates the validation rule for the record or field ..."

There is no validation in the table. Am I doing something wrong or can I stop the second message window from appearing?

Much thanks,
Margaret
