MS Access books

I am looking for some good MS Access books for a beginner in MS Access. I would like to make a good choice.

I used this book to learn the basic principles in Access it helped alot :: Exploring Microsoft Access 2000 with VBA, written by Robert T Grauer and Maryann Barber. I now know enough to make me dangerous! This is a great hands on book. I hope this helps.

There are a few issues that the book does not explain very weel when you run into trouble. But for the most part a very well written and functional book

Try checking out Mastering Microsoft Access 2000 Development by Alison Balter which is about $50.00. This book is well written and will take you though the basics to an intermediate level. I've literally bought tens upon tens of books on Access and it's been my experience that Alisons books are the best, well written and the information is presented in great fashion; not to mention, she really knows her stuff. Even better, if you can get your company to pay for it. Check out Keystone learning center at

They have a 18 CD rom or DVD set on Access. These media cover the data in the above mentioned book. I've had the opportunity to go through this series and it is quite comprehensive and easy to follow. Bear in mind that these CD's are not cheap @ $1,200.00. However, if you are serious about develpoing in Access and want a solid foundation you can't go wrong!!!
