MS Access API to MS Word

We have a MS Access database which we use for Change Control purposes in our IT dept. From the information put into the database, we generate a letter using the API to MS Word. The issue we have centers around the use by MS Word of the normal.dot which simply messes up our letter. We want to use our own change request.dot template so we do not have to spend our time editing the MS Word document. Any help in resolving this issue will be appreciated.

try using the mail merge feature in word and set the form the way you want. then use a access macro to to feed the info to word.
