Hi,

I know there is a lot of information out there on this subject, but I can't seem to make heads or tails out of it.

I have created a table that has a field for the path for a picture in it and I am looking to show these pictures in a report but I cannot figure out the proper way to code it, or link it, or what have you.

I realize that Microsoft has a help page on this, but I must be missing something when I am putting in the code.

Can someone help me with a step by step procedure of what the code is as well as what items i need to insert into the report (bound image frame, image frame, text box, etc.)?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,

sinkenbh

What have you tried so far? What hasn't worked? What Microsoft page are you referring to?

This is the page I was referencing.

I started off with an OLE object field and tried to embed a bitmap, but as I read more, I realized this was not the best choice. I then tried linking a jpeg, but the image would not show, so I converted the jpeg to a bitmap and tried linking that, but the file came up as "package" instead of bitmap image and would only show an icon in the report. So I read a little more and I am now trying to show a picture in the report from the file path that is typed into a text field within the table.

Hi--i've never done this before, but I followed the instructions on the web page you cite, and was easily able to show, on a report, several .jpg files that are in a folder on a server and listed in a table just as the article explains. Maybe you could try again? Why do you say it's not the best choice?

I guess my problem lies in what do they mean by "Image Control" or "Image Frame"?

What I meant by not the best choice was embedding bitmaps into the database because from what I read, this would cause the database to get quite large.

And somehow the 50th time is the charm. Thank you for your help!
